Lylan Wingfield, MS, LPC, LCAS, NCC, MAC

M.S. Community Counseling

Counselor & Owner

Lylan has been a counselor since finishing her Master's in Community Counseling at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2007. She has worked with children, adolescents, adults, families, and couples in a variety of community settings including domestic violence shelters and community non-profit agencies. Lylan is dually licensed by the North Carolina Board of Licensed Professional Counselors and the North Carolina Substance Abuse Professional Practice Board to address both mental health and substance abuse concerns. She also is nationally certified by the National Board for Certified Counselors.

Lylan utilizes an eclectic holistic approach to counseling that emphasizes the strengths of the client, couple, and/or family. She believes each person has inherent strengths and abilities that can be used as a foundation for change.

Lylan is a native of West Virginia who moved to Greensboro in 2005 after finishing her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Sociology/Anthropology at Washington and Lee University. She spends her time away from the counseling office with her husband, two children, and dog. Lylan enjoys cooking, traveling, riding motorcycles, and being outdoors in addition to reading when her children allow her the time.

Lylan is welcoming and easy to talk to. She has a gift not only for understanding her clients' perspective, but also for challenging their negative thoughts in a caring way to facilitate growth.
